Synopsis: Grissom and Nick have to investigate when a girl goes missing. A wealthy man calls the police after getting a ransom call. His wife will be returned for $2,000,000. It turns out the wife was part of a plan that went wrong. Meanwhile Catherine and Warrick have to investigate the hit and run death of a child. It turns out a young boy, James Moore, dropped his cell phone in his car, on bending down to pick it up he struck and killed Renda Harris. It was the boys grandfather who didn't want him to go to the police. In the end the boy went to prison. Nick also got his C.S.I level 3 in this episode.
